Around the island Tour
Explore one of ten last remaining oasis in Mediterranean
1 Constructed by JNA and JRM in 1982, the Jastog submarine tunnel, nestled in the rock of Parja bay, measures 127m in length and 18m in height. Its primary function was to provide crucial protection for warships, boats, and submarines, contributing significantly to the defense of Vis.
2 Biševo Island's Blue Cave, an awe-inspiring 18m limestone marvel, caught the fascination of Baron Eugen von Ransonnet-Villez in 1884, transforming it into a premier tourist destination. Accessed by small boats, dependent on weather, the cave's shielded blue-silver radiance, coupled with its scenic surroundings, crafts a truly breathtaking annual experience for visitors.
3 Pritišćina
Known as smallest beach on island
4 Stiniva Bay, voted Europe's most beautiful beach, boasts high cliffs framing a pebble beach with clear turquoise waters. The protected area since 1967 has a geological history from the ice age, featuring a collapsed karst cave and impressive hanging cliffs. Sea level rise sculpted the pebbled shoreline from dinosaur-era limestone rocks, revealing fossilized shell remnants.
5 The Green Cave in Rukavac Bay, Ravnik, is known for its greenish glow from algae. Legends say being illuminated by the cave's light can bring a 100-year life. The cave also hosts a remarkable number of hidden birds.
6 In a serene lagoon guarded by Mali Budikovac and Sanak islands, discover the Budikovac and Perna beaches with inviting turquoise waters. One resident tends to a year-round vegetable garden, animal farm, and a seasonal Dalmatian cuisine restaurant, all set against the vivid backdrop of the azure sea.
